Permanent reduction. Not another temporary solution.
Laser hair removal works by delivering laser energy that is absorbed by melanin (pigment) in the hair follicle, generating heat that damages the follicle's ability to produce new hair. The surrounding skin is left intact. It is the most commonly requested cosmetic laser procedure worldwide.
Most laser systems struggle with darker skin tones because the laser cannot distinguish between melanin in the hair and melanin in the skin. The MOTUS platform solves this.
Why Temporary Methods Fail
Shaving cuts the hair at the surface. The follicle is untouched, the growth cycle is uninterrupted, and regrowth begins immediately. Waxing and threading pull the hair from the root, but the follicle regenerates and produces new hair within weeks. None of these methods alter the follicle's ability to grow.
The follicle is the problem, and temporary methods do not reach it. Laser hair removal targets the follicle itself, delivering enough energy to damage its ability to regenerate. This is why results are lasting, and why each successive treatment produces visibly less regrowth.
Uses an Alexandrite 755nm laser with Moveo technology to deliver energy gradually through a continuous sweeping motion rather than high-intensity pulses. This allows effective follicle targeting without the heat spikes that cause burns, pain, or discomfort in darker skin. Studies demonstrate up to 80% reduction at six months after the final treatment. Safe and effective across all skin types, including darker tones (Fitzpatrick IV through VI). Comfortable enough that most patients require no numbing. Treatment parameters are calibrated for each patient based on skin type, hair type, and treatment area.
Learn moreSix to eight sessions spaced four to eight weeks apart are typical. Treated hair sheds over the following two weeks after each session. Hair regrowth becomes sparser and finer with each successive treatment. Some areas may require occasional maintenance, particularly where hormonal factors influence hair growth.
Mild warmth, slight redness, or temporary swelling at the treatment site are normal and typically resolve within hours. Avoid sun exposure and self-tanning products before and after treatment. Certain medications, including photosensitizing drugs, should be discussed with your clinician before treatment.
What It Treats: Face, underarms, arms, legs, bikini, back, chest, abdomen, and virtually any body area with dark hair. Less effective on blonde, grey, red, or white hair due to insufficient melanin in the follicle.
Hair grows in three phases: anagen (active growth), catagen (transition), and telogen (resting). The laser is only effective during the anagen phase, when the hair is connected to the follicle and contains the most melanin. Because only a portion of hairs are in the active phase at any given time, multiple sessions are required to catch each follicle during its growth cycle.
Treatment intervals are spaced to align with hair cycling patterns, which vary by body area. Facial hair cycles faster than body hair, which is why session spacing differs between treatment zones.
Hormonal factors can influence results. Conditions such as polycystic ovary syndrome or hormonal shifts during menopause can stimulate new follicle activity after treatment is complete. Maintenance sessions may be needed in these cases.
It provides permanent hair reduction. Most patients achieve 80 to 90% reduction. Some fine or hormonal regrowth may occur over time.
Yes. MOTUS HR with Moveo technology is designed for safe, effective treatment across all skin types, including darker tones.
Most patients describe it as a warm sensation. MOTUS HR is significantly more comfortable than traditional pulse-based lasers.
Laser hair removal is most effective on dark hair. Blonde, grey, red, and white hair lack sufficient melanin for the laser to target effectively.
Most patients achieve long-term permanent reduction. Hormonal changes may stimulate some new growth over time, which can be addressed with occasional maintenance sessions.
