Dr. Victor Onwukwe is a family physician with extensive international experience and a deep commitment to patient-centred care, with a career spanning over 36 years. He founded ReNueva Health to offer what standard insurance-based medicine often cannot: Time, Investigation, and Technology.
From Public Health to Personal Restoration
Dr. Victor Onwukwe earned his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and later worked in Mozambique, where he received a national award for his contributions during the cholera epidemic.
During this time, he worked with Doctors Without Borders (Médecins Sans Frontières) and later supported cholera prevention initiatives with the World Health Organization (WHO), contributing to essential public health work early in his medical career.
He completed his residency in Family Medicine in South Africa, where his clinical interests included community health, preventive medicine, and health systems strengthening. He also completed a Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Health and a Master of Public Health, with a focus on Health Systems Integration and Management.
Dr. Onwukwe moved to Canada nearly two decades ago and founded Access Medical Clinic, where he continues to practise today.
Why I Built ReNueva
"I grew frustrated with the limits of the prescription pad. We believe in minimal pharmacological intervention. Standard medicine often adds prescriptions to mask symptoms; my goal is to use energy and technology to restore the body's own function, reducing the need for lifelong medication."
I would treat urinary incontinence with standard medication, only for the patient to return with severe dry mouth and side effects that made them miserable. I would see couples in tears because standard ED treatments had failed them.
I established ReNueva to offer what standard insurance-based medicine often cannot: Time, Investigation, and Technology. I pursued advanced training in Plasmatology, Peptide Therapy, and Neuromodulation because my patients deserved better answers than "just learn to live with it."
Our care model is designed for people living and working in Northern Alberta, where physical demands, climate, and time constraints matter.
